Cucumber-and-mint gin sour — the drink that converts vodka people to gin.

2 ozgin
3/4 ozfresh lime juice
3/4 ozsimple syrup (or 1/2 oz demerara)
6–8fresh mint leaves
3–4thin cucumber slices
cucumber wheel + mint sprig

Over-muddling turns cucumber to mush and mint bitter. Restraint wins.

Build

  1. Gently muddle cucumber and mint — press and twist, never pulverize.
  2. Add gin, lime, and syrup with ice; shake hard 12–15 seconds.
  3. Double-strain through a fine mesh into a chilled coupe.
  4. Garnish with a cucumber wheel and mint sprig.
